Beware of Fraud! Fake Contact Numbers Are Rampant on the Google Maps Immigration Office Page

Jakarta – The public is being urged to be wary of fraud that is rampant through the Google Maps platform. Fake WhatsApp contact numbers have been discovered embedded within the address information on Google Maps pages for several Immigration Offices.
The number 081230030440 was found on the Google Maps pages of several Immigration Offices. This suspicious number was discovered during a search using the GetContact app. The lack of valid information regarding the number's owner further strengthens the suspicion of fraud. The Google My Business feature, which allows users to edit business information, is suspected of being misused by unscrupulous individuals.
"This is already disturbing, we will write to Google to remove the number and we will also ask mobile operators to block the number," explained the Secretary of the Directorate General of Immigration, Sandi Andaryadi.
The Importance of Verifying Information
The public is advised to always access official information regarding immigration services through the official channels of the Directorate General of Immigration. Do not easily trust information obtained from unreliable sources, especially when it involves administrative and financial matters.
"Always double-check, don't be gullible. Contact official contacts and social media for both the Directorate General and the immigration office. Use the Directorate General of Immigration's live chat at www.imigrasi.go.id, Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM WIB," Sandi concluded.
