South Jakarta, February 15, 2026 – The South Jakarta Immigration Office, through a joint operation by the Foreigners Monitoring Team (TIMPORA) and the Jaya Military Police (POMDAM JAYA), successfully apprehended two foreign nationals (WNA) suspected of misusing their stay permits during an operation in the Kuningan area of ​​South Jakarta early Sunday morning (February 15).

• Reveal misuse of residence permits for 2 foreign nationals

In an operation led by the Head of the South Jakarta Immigration Office, WINARKO, officers apprehended ZS (a Chinese citizen) and KS (a Thai citizen) at a nightclub in the Kuningan area of ​​South Jakarta. Based on evidence and initial investigation, ZS was found to be operating as a DJ using a Visa on Arrival (VoA), while KS was acting as a dancer using a Visa-Free Visit (VoA) facility, which was not in accordance with its intended use.

In addition to violating residence permits as stipulated in Article 122, letter a, of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration, officers also discovered that the location was suspected of being a gathering point for an unauthorized community.

Based on these findings, the South Jakarta Immigration Office has taken strategic steps in the form of Administrative Immigration Actions: The two foreign nationals are currently detained at the South Jakarta Immigration Office to undergo an in-depth investigation (BAP) and face deportation and detention.

The Head of the South Jakarta Immigration Office emphasized that this operation serves as a momentum for all law enforcement officers to collaborate to create a safe and orderly environment for the public. "We are not only focused on immigration document violations, but also have a moral and legal responsibility to protect South Jakarta from activities that have the potential to undermine the social and cultural norms of the Indonesian nation," he emphasized.

"The state is here to ensure that every foreigner in Indonesia respects applicable laws, including the moral values ​​upheld by our society. We will not allow for practices that violate the law."

The South Jakarta Immigration Office urges the public to continue actively reporting the presence and activities of suspicious foreigners through official complaint channels to maintain public safety and order.
