South Jakarta – The Directorate General of Immigration, through the South Jakarta Class I Special Non-TPI Immigration Office, has arrested a Vietnamese citizen identified as TAT, suspected of committing immigration violations by working as a dentist using a Visit Stay Permit (ITK).

The action was taken to monitor the presence and activities of foreigners in Indonesia, particularly in South Jakarta. This action is part of the South Jakarta Class I Special Immigration Office's commitment to maintaining public order and national security, as well as enforcing immigration laws in a professional and measured manner.

According to information obtained, TAT resides in Indonesia using a Visit Stay Permit. However, during surveillance by officers, he was suspected of abusing his stay permit by practicing dentistry at a clinic in the Ciputat area.

During an on-site inspection by the immigration monitoring and enforcement team, TAT claimed to be a patient undergoing treatment at the clinic. However, based on field investigations and fact-finding by officers, TAT was identified as a medical professional working and providing services at the clinic.

Officers then took TAT to the South Jakarta Class I Special Non-TPI Immigration Office for further questioning. The investigation revealed that he had intentionally used his stay permit for activities inconsistent with the permit's purpose.

The Head of the South Jakarta Class I Special Non-TPI Immigration Office, Winarko, confirmed that his office had taken administrative immigration action in the form of deportation of TAT and added his name to the deportation list.

"This action demonstrates our commitment to enforcing immigration law and ensuring that all foreign nationals comply with applicable regulations while in Indonesia," said Winarko.

TAT's deportation took place on Friday, June 5, 2026, via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport to Vietnam after the Immigration Office coordinated with relevant parties.

The entire law enforcement process was carried out professionally, humanely, responsibly, and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The South Jakarta Immigration Office emphasized that it will continue to increase its oversight of foreigners' activities to maintain national security, public order, and provide legal certainty to the public.

These monitoring and enforcement measures align with the spirit of "Immigration for the People," which prioritizes public service and immigration law enforcement that prioritizes the public interest.
